The courses are designed for students, technicians and researchers working or intending to work in the area of animal research. Further details are available in the course facts for each individual course.

No. Participation is not limited to academic institutions. Our courses are open to individuals affiliated with public or private institutions, as well as private individuals who wish to obtain the relevant training and certification.

Our courses are offered in German or English. Further details are available in the course facts for each individual course.

For our regular courses registration is completed online via our website. Simply select your preferred course date on the respective course page to start the registration process.

Yes. The theoretical part of our courses is provided as on-demand e-learning, allowing participants to complete the modules flexibly and at their own pace. Access to the e-learning platform is granted after registration has been processed.

No. The e-learning materials are available exclusively via the online platform.

The practical training is conducted in our training facility in Berlin, close to Rathaus Reinickendorf. The full location details are shared after registration confirmation.

Cancellation or re-scheduling is free of charge up to four weeks before the start date of the course and must be submitted in writing. After this period, the full participation fee is due in cases of withdrawal or non-attendance. Re-scheduling to an earlier course date is free of charge.

No. Unfortunately our courses are not certified for funding via education vouchers. However, several participants reported that, in individual cases, the Employment Office agreed to reimburse the course costs. Please note that such decisions are made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the respective authority, and must be clarified with them prior to course registration.

Yes. Upon successful completion of the course requirements, participants receive a certificate of completion detailing the training content covered.
Payment & Invoicing

The invoice is sent by email approximately three days after the registration confirmation to the invoice contact provided during registration.

Payment is made by bank transfer. All payment details are provided on the invoice. Please ensure the invoice number is referenced with your transfer.

No. Payment by credit card or cash is not accepted.
EU-Function A, D course
-
Under EU Directive 2010/63/EU, personnel working with animals used for scientific purposes must be trained for specific functions they aim to fulfill:
EU Function A: Carrying out procedures on animals
EU Function D: Humane killing
This course provides the mandatory education and training required to perform these functions and includes the following function specific modules:
1 - National legislation
2 - Ethics, animal welfare and the Three Rs
3.1-3.2 - Basic and appropriate biology
4 - Animal care, health and management
5 - Recognition of pain, suffering and distress
6.1-6.2 Humane methods of killing
7-8 - Minimally invasive procedures without anaesthesia
As well as additional task specific modules:
20 Anaesthesia for minor procedures
22 Principles of surgery

Yes. Participation in only the practical part is possible with proof of a successfully completed and equivalent theory course. Please contact us via our contact form if you require more information.

For health and safety reasons, our terms and conditions do not permit participation during pregnancy.

We strongly recommend completing the e-learning modules in advance, as they provide essential theoretical background. However, participation in the practical training is still permitted if the exam has not yet been passed.

The second attempt is free of charge and will automatically be made available after the previous attempt has been processed.
On the rare occasion that a further attempt is necessary, we offer an exam package which includes two more exams as well as a preparatory video conference call with one of our instructors.

The theory is available on demand via our e-learning platform. The login details will be received as part of the registration confirmation.
The practical training is scheduled as follows:
Monday 8:00 - 18:00 (incl. lunch) / Tuesday 8:15 - 18:00 (incl. lunch) / Wednesday 8:15 - 11:00
Wednesday 12:00 - 18:00 / Thursday 8:15 - 18:00 (incl. lunch) / Friday 8:15 - 14:30 (incl. lunch)
